Enjoy this trip to Argentina and Uruguay starting with Buenos Aires, which is the gateway to the country, standing out for its art and history along with Tango, Countryside and shopping. It is the most cosmopolitan city in the country offering great dynamism day and night. Then visiting Uruguay with the cities of Colonia del Sacramento, known for its historic neighborhood with cobblestones, colonial buildings and museums; Montevideo, with art deco buildings, colonial houses and emblematic places and Punta del Este with its incredible beaches.
Arrival at Buenos Aires airport and transfer to your accommodation.
This excursion transmits the emotion of a multiple Buenos Aires. We will know the symbol of our city: the Obelisk. We will visit squares such as those of Mayo, San Martín and Alvear. Avenues: Corrientes, De Mayo, 9 de Julio, among others. Neighborhoods with history like La Boca and San Telmo, sumptuous like Palermo and Recoleta, modern like Puerto Madero. The Lezama and Tres de Febrero parks, commercial and financial areas and a Football Stadium.
In the evening you will have dinner at El Viejo Almacén, one of the oldest tango houses in the city, where the most important figures in the history of Argentine music and poetry met. Enjoy a dinner with the best national and international cuisine and an excellent tango show. (Includes dinner with first course, second course, dessert and drinks).
The excursion offers a unique experience in a ranch in Buenos Aires, which keeps a good part of Argentine history and tradition. We invite you to ride the sulkies of time admiring the immensity of our pampas, be surprised by the traditional dance show and the skills of the gaucho.
Our tour includes: Transportation, Guide, and Barbecue with drinks and show. Some of the activities that we carry out are horse and carriage rides, a show of singing and folk dances during lunch, ring races, quadricycle races and bolero demonstrations, accompanying the stay with typical peasant food, to live an unforgettable experience.
Transfer to the port of Buenos Aires to take the ferry to Colonia del Sacramento.
Arrival and transfer to the hotel.
We will pick you up at the hotel to visit to the Real de San Carlos area, stopping at the San Benito chapel and the Mihanovich Complex from 1910: the old hotel (current headquarters of the Polytechnic University of Valencia), Plaza de Toros, El Frontón, Hipódromo, Usina and the Dock.
Along the west coast, bordering the great bay and its beaches, you go through the different residential neighborhoods, to reach the center and its commercial areas and enter the historic neighborhood through the Campo Gate of the old Colonia del Sacramento. Guided tour of the neighborhood, thus accessing a detailed knowledge of the points of interest that have made it possible for it to be declared a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995. At the end, the passengers will be transferred to their destinations of origin or free time for lunch.
Then transfer to the bus station and regular bus to Montevideo.
The tour will allow you to enjoy the monuments, parks and gardens of Montevideo. The main points of interest are the Old City, the Plaza de la Constitución, the Cathedral and the Colonial City Hall, the Teatro Solís, the Plaza de la Independencia.
From the square begins the main commercial street 18 de Julio lined with shops, cafes and office buildings, then the Plaza del Entrevero, the Parliament, an immense building that is the pride of Uruguay.
We will continue our trip to the Prado neighborhood, one of the oldest parks and residential areas in the city and we will arrive at the residential area of Carrasco with a previous stop at Plaza Virgilio, which has a monument dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the Navy.
The trip will end at the hotel.
The tour leaves Montevideo through residential areas and then takes the highway for about 85 miles to Punta del Este, one of the best beach resorts in South America; a gateway for the jet set.
Our first stop will be in Portezuelo and Punta Ballena to admire the coast and stop at Casapueblo, home and studio of the famous artist Carlos Páez Vilaró (1923-2014). The dazzling white complex, which resembles Moroccan architecture.
The trip continues to Punta del Este, passing through residential areas of elegant houses, some of more sophisticated architecture, such as the neighborhoods of San Rafael, Cantegril, Parque Golf and Beverly Hills. We will pay a visit to the Ralli Foundation. This private museum of contemporary Latin American art houses an impressive collection of sculptures and paintings, including works by Salvador Dalí (closed on Mondays and in low season).
Next we will visit La Barra and its unique undulating bridges.
We will pass by several fine sand beaches such as Playa Brava, San Rafael, El Emir and others, on the way to the main avenue of the city center, (Avenida Gorlero) and then the port.
We will have free time for lunch (lunch is optional).
Return to Montevideo.
You will be visiting a typical family operated establishment, one of the classic artisan wineries of our country. Its homeowners will welcome you to share their daily labor and the fruit of their work.
Enjoy a great time in a unique environment, where you will tour their premises, vineyards and learn of the process of how winemaking is done. The Tannat grape is Uruguay’s emblematic varietal and regarded in contests and fairs of better quality than its French origin.
Toward the tour end, there’ll be wine tasting accompanied by a delicious “picada” (a selection of small bits and pieces, like olives, cold cuts, snacks, cheese and the sort). You will have the chance to taste the Tannat flag grape of Uruguay among the wines served.
Our tour includes:
-Transfer from Montevideo to the Canelones area, a region that has 70% of the wineries in our country.
– Arriving at the destination, the visit will be guided by an oenologist or a suitable person from the winery, who will show you the vineyards, winery and cava.
