11 Days / 10 Nights
Santiago de Chile - Valparaíso - Puerto Natales - Torres del Paine - Skorpios Cruise
USD 3505
Canals and fjords: The crossing begins in Puerto Natales, sailing through the Kirke Narrows, heading towards the north through the Moral Vicuña, Seno Union, Collingwood and Sarmiento. While navigating through these canals and fjords we commence to be fascinated with scenery of impressionable contrasts of lights and shades, where the mountains run into a sea that is dotted with Isles; lands furrowed with winds; a region in which the glaciers continue their slow work, pulverizing rocks, plowing out valleys and immense canals, that in past ages were explored by, amongst many others, legendary navigators such as Ladrillero, Darwin and Fitz Roy.
Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
We will begin on the main street in the city center, Avenida Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins (better known as Alameda), where we will visit La Moneda Presidential Palace, a neoclassical building that holds a significant part of Chilean history.
We will walk through the pedestrian promenades of Huérfanos and Ahumada.
Next, we will climb Cerro Santa Lucía, a beautiful and historically important site that served as a strategic point for the founding of the city.
We will then cross the Mapocho River to reach Barrio Bellavista, a neighborhood known for its vibrant cultural and artistic scene, as well as being one of the most popular areas for Santiago’s nightlife.
We will also visit Viña del Mar, a beautiful coastal city known for its gardens and pleasant beaches.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to take your flight to Punta Arenas. After arrival transfer to the bus station for the bus to Puerto Natales. Upon arrival a driver will transfer us to our accommodation.
The tour begins with a visit to the Milodón Cave, a remarkable cavern measuring 200 meters in length, 30 meters in height, and 80 meters in width, located 25 km from Puerto Natales.
A half-hour walk takes us into the cave, where remains of extinct animals have been found, including the dwarf horse, bear, panther, and saber-toothed tiger.
We pass through Cerro Castillo, where we stop at a café before continuing toward Torres del Paine, crossing numerous ranches and a landscape that transitions from steppe to deciduous forest.
Torres del Paine is world-renowned for the massif that gives it its name—granite giants sculpted by the force of glacial ice.
Upon entering the park, we discover a series of intensely colored lagoons, ice-covered mountains, and abundant local wildlife. We will then take a 15-minute walk to Salto Grande on the Paine River.
